Catholic Youth For Christ (CYFC)

Sixth, seventh and eighth year students are encouraged to join Catholic Youth For Christ (CYFC) in effort to broaden their stewardship awareness.  The group meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month from 5:45 pm to 7:00 pm in the St. Bernard Kitchen and Parish Hall.  Parents take turns providing a light meal for the group which is then followed by an activity of some type.

Much of the time in CYFC is spent focusing on stewardship projects both near and far.  Each year a trip is planned that focuses on vocations, volunteer work, and fun.  In the recent past, groups have raveled to St. Bernard, Louisiana, to assist in Hurricane Katrina-stricken areas and Oklahoma City to help the Carmelite Sisters with their soup kitchen and volunteer work.  A trip to Chicago is being planned for 2010 during Spring Break week – details to be announced!

CYFC helps many local people… food drive for the local food bank, donations to the Family Connections, donation of hats, mittens/gloves, and socks to the elementary school and Health Department for needy children, “care packages” to elementary students in St. Bernard, Louisiana, and so much more.
